我就是我。
以天下之大，卻無任何一人像我一樣，
有一些人某些部分像我，
但沒有一個和我一模一樣。
所以，一切出自於我都真真實實屬於我，
因為那是我個人的選擇。

我擁有一切屬於我的。
我的身體，以及一切它的舉動；
我的思想，以及所有的想法和意念；
我的眼睛，以及一切所看到的影像；
我的感覺不論是什麼：
憤怒、喜樂、挫折、愛、失望、興奮；
我的口，和一切從口中所出的話語，
溫文有禮的，甜蜜的或粗暴的，
對的或不對的；
我的聲音，喧嚷的或輕柔的；
還有我的行為，
不管是對別人或是對自己的。

我擁有我的幻想，我的夢想，
我的希望，我的恐懼。
我擁有我所有的勝利和成功、所有的失敗和錯誤。

我擁有我自己的一切，
我可以和我自己成為親密熟悉的朋友。
這樣我可以愛自己，並且能夠和我的每一部份友善相處。
那麼。我就可以使我的全人順利運作。
帶給自己最大的福祉。

我知道我自己有一些地方讓我困惑，
也有別的部分是我也不明白的。
不過，只要我對自己友善且親愛，
我就能勇敢地、充滿希望地尋找困惑的解答。
並且尋求方法以期更了解自己。
不論我在某一個特定的時刻
看起來、聽起來如何，
不論我說什麼、做什麼或想什麼、感受什麼，
這都是我。
這是真實的而且代表了那個時刻的情況。
爾後當我回想當時自己
看起來、聽起來的樣子，
自己所說過的話和做過的事，
還有自己的想法和感覺，
有些部分也許顯的有些不合時宜。
我可以摒棄那些不合時宜的，
而保留那些經過證明後合宜的。
並且創造一些新的，
以替代那些被我摒棄的。

我可以看、聽、感覺、思想、說話和做事。
我有足以生活下去，與別人親近和創造的工具，
並且能夠使我周圍的人事物
呈現出意義和秩序。

我擁有我自己，
所以我也能掌握我自己。

我就是我自己。而且我很好。I am me and I am okay.



I am me

"I am me" by Virginia Satir

Virginia came to write this poem when she was working with an angry fifteen-year-old girl who had a lot of questions about herself and what life meant.



I am me.

In all the world, there is no one exactly like me.

There are persons who have some parts like me,

but no one adds up exactly like me.



Therefore, everything that comes out of me

is authentically mine because I alone choose it.

I own everything about me

my body including everything it does;

my mind including all its thoughts and ideas;

my eyes including the images of all they behold;

my feelings whatever they may be...

anger,

joy,

frustration,

love,

disappointment,

excitement

my mouth and all the words that come out of it

polite,

sweet or rough,

correct or incorrect;

my voice loud or soft.

And all my actions, whether they be to others or to myself.



I own my fantasies, my dreams, my hopes, my fears.

I own all my triumphs and successes,

all my failures and mistakes.

Because I own all of me I can become intimately acquainted with me.

By doing so I can love me and be friendly with me in all parts.

I can then make it possible for all of me to work in my best interests.



I know there are aspects about myself that puzzle me,

and other aspects that I do not know.

But as long as I am friendly and loving to myself, I can courageously and hopefully, look for solutions to the

puzzles and for ways to find out more about me.



However I look and sound, whatever I say and do, and whatever I think and feel at a given moment in time is me.

This is authentic and represents where I am in that moment in time.

When I review later how I looked and sounded, what I said and did, and how I thought and felt, some parts may turn

out to be unfitting.

I can discard that which is unfitting, and keep that which proved fitting,

And invent something new for that which I discarded.



I can see, hear, feel, think, say and do.

I have the tools to survive, to be close to others, to be productive,

and to make sense and order out of the world of people and things outside of me.

I own me, and therefore I can engineer me.



I am me and I am okay.
